Quinny and Dion get ready to bust some magical moves with Cate Blanchett and do some “clock push-ups” with the ‘Tenacious’ Jack Black in this magical mystery tour directed by horror movie maven Eli Roth. Owen Vaccaro plays Lewis Barnavelt, an orphan who is sent to live with his weird Uncle Jonathan, who is soon revealed to be a warlock who lives in a very odd house… The House with a Clock in Its Walls.
This is the 2018 film, set in 1955, based on the 1973 book by John Bellairs; a book with 11 further stories in the series. Will it be a timepiece for the ages, or does it need winding up?

Blanchett and Black have entertaining banter and genuinely engaging chemistry
Eli Roth's horror chops are definitely evident at times.
It is unfortunately quite bland and suffers badly from slow pacing
Feels like we've seen so much of it before and done far better
