hello Batman good to see you i guess they weren’t kidding about it raining Yakuza well yeah of course raining men just like it always does what the hell

i went to search for deviations in modern day Japan but as you can see Japan is gone it gets worse it would seem that Superman Wonder Woman Aquaman Green Lantern and Flash have also

disappeared so we now find ourselves without a Justice League which tells us that history has been changed we need to recover the Quake engine and then use it to return spaceime back to normal

is that Green Lantern

now say goodbye wonder Woman of course Yakuza families are all that exist

there is no government nor law enforcement within the ranks of the Japanese Yakuza are sacrificial assassins sent to kill the bosses of rival syndicates

stopping the quake engine is our top priority right now once we destroy it Hinamoto should go back to being part of its original world the only one who gets the pleasure of killing the Batman is me

the Yakuza leaf will restore peace and harmony back to the world

crushed hello and welcome to the periodic table of awesome my name is Dion Des and tonight we’re finally getting to the end of anime that’s right maybe that’s a little bit uh pretentious there it’s like the end of anime the end of anime as a as a whole no we’re doing the end of Andy May uh as a as a final wrap-up for our month of of anime in May does that make sense that you’re not heralding the end of an art form no maybe you start doing a pretty good job i mean I mean yeah yeah technically you know somewhat um uh we can’t have you know they can all be winners Quinny no no um and I mean okay so I shall I shall lay my cards upon the table in front of you okay um I hated the first Batman Ninja wait this Sorry i What okay so in 2018 an animated film came out from DC called Batman Ninja my god this that we reviewed is a sequel okay yeah i mean like in In the opening they’re like “Oh so we came back from feudal Japan yesterday.” Yeah and now shit’s all [ __ ] up yeah yesterday being seven years ago when the first movie came out yeah but that’s okay they’re animated so they haven’t aged at all contextually I did not know that this was a sequel oh so the bit where he said we came back from feudal Japan yesterday didn’t tip you off that there was no I was just going with it i was just like okay sure I appreciate your yes and like I came back from feudal Japan makes sense okay cool I’m with that I don’t know what what now let’s keep going more game do you say feudal Japan or futile Japan either way I’m just going to go with it uh it’s fine yeah did not know this was a sequel so all right thanks I’m yeah I’m sorry buddy uh this is very definitely a sequel I wasn’t entirely sure whether it was going to be a sequel whether or whether it was going to just be another kind of like sort of story in the vein of because honestly I’m struggling to like Jill did you watch the first one i didn’t i knew of it and I’m like not going to touch that good move like that’s culturally derivative yeah this is you know like like the there was actually a point where we did have Batman anime but it was in the Batman kind of animatrix thing do you remember that yes I do like I know that this production team that created Batman Ninja are Japanese and so they’re like “Let’s put Batman in our culture like that would be cool.” And I mean sure but

but But a [ __ ] results are mixed and I can’t tell whether or not it’s because it’s about Batman or because it’s just the the two flavors together uh like Japan and Batman perhaps not together you know maybe yeah is that what I’m saying i’m not going to sit here and say “Hey you can’t use other characters in other cultures and have fun with it how dare you?” Like go off girl but like yeah I mean Turkish Spider-Man’s amazing

um so I I just looked it up and uh the the first Batman Ninja um we reviewed uh in 2018 but we well I say we I reviewed it was a written review and it came out with the the sparkling score of 56% right um which to be honest I think I was being a bit generous okay um so this time rather than going back and writing another review about this you’ve made us all watch it yeah that’s right i am outsourcing my pants well at least you didn’t get an AI to write the review that’s all I’m saying yeah yeah it didn’t exist back then as openly as it does now oh right yeah it wasn’t fully integrated into things yeah no I still had to you know put the words together that was there’s a there’s a a paragraph of me talking about the concept of style over substance and then the last sentence of it is in case you hadn’t picked it up yet I did not enjoy Batman Ninja um so obviously when anime came around you were like I should do the sequel like Yes 100% because 100% batman Ninja versus Yakuza League yes and look sometimes there’s a lot of fun to be had in watching things that you know are probably going to be bad um sure sure dion you do this all the time this is your stock in trade where Dion’s like I’m going to play a piece of music that everybody kind of hates but

is that mean is that like when you mean he makes us like forces us to listen to tism but that’s not that’s that’s not forcing that’s admittedly education i I did I backed you guys into a corner on this one by making it the show of the week so figure of which the uh the the music track tonight is going to be Dance Monkey we’re just going to listen to that on repeat in the background excellent excellent no I’m not going to do that so yeah um the the the first film is also very long but is set almost entirely in feudal Japan and you get these bizarre kind of mashups of feudal Japan style art um and DC characters so you get like daimo um gorilla grod um sumo Bane um you know all that kind of weird [ __ ] and it was very much specifically Batman and those characters um well I I feel like we need a synopsis of some sort is that okay okay yeah i’m like [ __ ] what are you What do you say about this thing i don’t know i mean I’ve got a synopsis that’s here like you know if you want me to do it but I mean I would love for you to do it i think it would be lovely for you to do a synopsis because I’ve done them for a long time okay i think you could do it better are you going to give us a [ __ ] accent yes give us Give us a uh Sean Connory pretending to be Japanese he’s not even in this you got to be contextually the same kind of I felt like Octopusy was supposed to be Japan he was pretending he was a Japanese man i am not doing that yes you guys never watched that movie i’ve watched Octopusy but the only Shan Connory pretending to be Japanese is is for me Rising Sun where No he did it as James Bond as well oh my god no I shall not be for it a I’m going to do it as Alfred the butler i’m going to do it as a hoyy toy British accent a little bit little bit snarky yeah and maybe I should put some music god in the background for you know whoever we’ve got in that enjoys music in that kind of way okay batman vs n sorry Batman Ninja specifically versus Yakuza League only a day after returning from the past Batman and his allies discover that the world is not quite the same as they left it the entire island of Japan no longer exists and neither do the heroes of the Justice League but before they can get a handle on what is going on Yakuza literally start raining from the skies yes Master Bruce this is Batman Ninja versus Yakuza also sorry it was You only live twice not Octopus oh right so I remember Octopusy is like I’m Octopusy i’m sure yeah [ __ ] not talking about James Bond this thing is problematic without having to put [ __ ] James Bond in here and I’ll just be like “Come on guys.” Okay be problematic about this i’ll be the first to raise my hand to say I am a weeb i love Japan i love anime i love all that Japanese [ __ ] and I [ __ ] love Batman my number one favorite superhero and I also really love when they do mashup art stuff so like yeah I would dig a whole series of Batman characters as a Japanese cultural counterpart thing and like hell the latest Star Wars celebration a Japanese artist literally took all of the Star Wars characters and did a Japanese interpretation of them like I’m sick for all of that [ __ ] but I love them i was waiting for the big butt but but that was just not enough to compel me to watch a two-hour movie about Batman fighting the Joker in feudal Japan i like feudal Japan because of like the the whole Sangoku Basa thing and like the Masamune and even even though Batman’s on the poster doing the whole [ __ ] you know uh what do you call it naruto fingers and I’m [ __ ] gonna read um the Nudo versus Teenage Ninja Turtles comic when that’s compiled but like yeah uh this movie when Quinny picked it I’m like why did you do this to us because there’s something so [ __ ] like I saw a trailer or something and I was like well there’s something so overthe-top [ __ ] dumb about this yeah that I was like maybe this is going to be so over the top that it’s fun i loved all of the designs i have to say the the character designs the animation style was fabulous i liked it it reminded me of something else I’ve seen i can’t remember what it is but it’s like it’s 3D animation and it’s done in such a way with like really lovely textures and color and stuff and yeah the the character designs for like the Japanese interpretations of the superheroes was fantastic and I thought they really captured the essence of the Justice League characters because it was all about the villains in the last one and this one’s more about the heroes so that was great um I thought the premise of the storyline was interesting like it’s a very complex sci-fi story way everything about it is just [ __ ] dog [ __ ]

bang end of review mike chills out it’s overly complicated it’s a sci-fi that didn’t have to have anything to do with DC or Batman or Japan like there is just too much going on that it’s like a steaming hot mess felt like it was just a like I mean this what’s weird about it is the fact that it’s a Japanese like Japanese people are involved with it because it feels like it is some stereotype version of things that you know from anime meshed together with DC’s general vibe of just doing whatever and then in the end I was like this didn’t make any [ __ ] sense and some of the jokes if it was just like a Japanese version of any story line like sure let’s not over complicate it with the time travel and the dimension fissures and all of this BS and let’s just have a story with the Justice League and fighting Razul and they just all happen to be in a Japanese style like that i would have been fine with yeah and this is this is where the first one went so [ __ ] horribly wrong too that like the idea of going cool Batman you know mash him up ma mash up the characters with some cool designs give it a a fun storyline where he’s in feudal Japan and you know throwing [ __ ] shurikens and being a ninja and all that kind of stuff yeah sick totally on board for it visuals yeah totally cool totally into it but in that one once again same thing way too [ __ ] long went forever and the intro the characters and I mean I know that there are elements of this that are like the very traditional kind of anime things of we’re going to introduce the character and the character is going to get a still frame and the character is then going to monologue about themselves for a couple of minutes yeah um you know and that’s kind of part of the the the style but then the film just goes on and [ __ ] on oh and then we have the the amazing weird cut scenes of like Diana singing an anchor song in the middle of the movie and I didn’t understand that uh and then Alfred did a concept of a Mecca anime with all the boys and it’s like I was I was actually 100% on board for that i mean I pick a lane yeah yeah yeah what are you doing are you doing straight thing or is it a joke well who’s the comedy rel why do you have a comedy why is Damian the comedy character yeah why is it so funny that his hair has changed why yeah like why is it Kuraku why some people yeah I know they did an interesting job with taking like the actual American names and Japaneseing them not even that well what do you call it when you katakana someone yeah exactly and they just katakoned up all the names like Clark is Kaku i’m like “Yeah that’s right.” But they just made it sound more Japanese which I thought was kind of cool yeah i mean it was kind of good some of the design and the design of that was fun but then when they just acted like stupid stereotypes of Can I ask did you guys watch this in English or in Japanese english oh no i I the the the version that I got was in English and I went once again looking for the subs and for Yeah for the subs and the the Japanese and I was like [ __ ] cuz I knew it was originally done in Japanese like it it was originally made with a proper Japanese cast so I was actually really keen to do that so [ __ ] yeah what i did watch it in Japanese because uh when I paid my $7 to Amazon Prime to watch this thank you Quitty that’s was just before we I just want to I want to put a hand up to that before we started Jill said that she paid money to hire this and I literally transferred her money to say “I’m sorry i’m so sorry.” So when it did start to play and I was like “Oh no we’re not doing Americans no thank you no need to hear their their overthe-top empasis uh I’ll I’ll stick with the Japanese and you know what i’m so glad I did because the Japanese cast was filled with like some of my favorite voice actors so I was very happy oh that’s good cuz cuz let’s be clear the [ __ ] the the American cast is a who’s that of voice acting like there is not a single [ __ ] name amongst them oh no yeah i I’ I’d feel bad for them but I don’t know who they are oh god i mean well they pulled out the big guns for the Japanese one I must say like if anybody has ever heard of Ramy Park you know she’s the voice of uh Edward in Full Metal Alchemist um she’s basically done it all and she voiced Wonder Woman oh [ __ ] okay right so so we’ve kind of gone for like legitimately oh yeah they pulled out the big guns like these were some of the best of the best in voice acting in the Japanese right maybe well they very definitely didn’t do that they skimped on the English version yeah maybe maybe that’s the whole point of Batman Ninja versus Yakuza League maybe it’s just not for us

i mean you make a good point yeah i mean it’s it’s not for us sure well I mean come on this is this is literally built for Jill like it’s Japanese it’s anime and it’s the DC characters all wrapped up in one yeah like I mean if they if they had some sort of weird crossover with Captain America probably would have been great but uh but you know I mean like I tried to get on board with this i mean I’ve been having quite a fun time this month going through some of the animes um you know I I didn’t know that I would like the Rose of Versailles as much as I did that was again ridiculous but you know that was a fun thing and I got I kind of got on board with that it knew what it was doing it was very you know clearly aimed at its audience correctly and I think did a really good job and Perfect Blue again hadn’t seen it really great to watch that kind of one so you know an old and a new and in this one I was like “Oh great this will be fun.” Dementally flawed in all of the way that it kind of did things and it was it was a grind grinds that I there were some moments that I genuinely enjoyed and I’m wondering now if it’s because I just missed the good old days in the comics i think literally I just miss pre New 52 and I’m like it sat in that pocket of like here are all the boys they’re back together again they’re working together and it was like remember when Grant Morrison was doing Batman and Son and you loved it and I’m like I do i know and it really fed into that nostalgia pocket for me in terms of like the characters and that kind of stuff but there was just like when when you open a movie with a a Yakuza tornado and it’s raining Yakuza it’s raining and I’m like Yakuza it’s raining does that word mean something else now like what’s happening they like “No there are literally dudes with swords in white suits and sunglasses falling from the sky.” I’m like “Yeah.” And it’s the same thing that happened yesterday afternoon and the day before like Yeah where’s it going i mean you know it was really fun to watch all of the bat boys bat Boys yeah the bat fans not the batty boys the bat boys i was kind of weirded out that there was no indication of Batgirl anywhere in there yeah i was kind of like what’s what’s going on with that surely that’s something that’s begging to be Yeah they couldn’t have had Oracle and Alfred running point like Yeah yeah or or bring her back in full Batgirl outfit some way and you know lean into the Bishojo kind of you know they couldn’t do that they were they were massive titties they were saving all that they were saving all that room for Harley Quinn who was definitely a character that needed to be in there yes and the weird thing is she’s in the first film so they’ve clearly gone “Oh we’ve got to put her in there.” Even though we’re pretty sure we left her in feudal Japan at the end of the last one with weird [ __ ] feudal Japan Joker so the the the end of the first one ends with the Joker over taking over a castle and then turning into a giant feudal castle mech that then Oh god glad I didn’t watch that oh like is that like giant spider from Wild Wild West yeah like that except it’s it’s like a mech that looks like the Joker but it’s a Japanese castle sized mech it was hardcore dumb moving castle yes yeah exactly i mean there there are so many parts of this that I liked for the design like I was I I dug Bar the um the Flash design i was like that’s that’s cool yeah all the costumes were really awesome i love the translations that they did on you know the graphic elements that are in a hero costume and how they would translate that into a Japanese outfit it was cool i like that and they I also like that they did give most of the lead characters um secondary outfits so like you’ve got two different versions of Red Hood um yeah I’m pretty sure you see at least two different costumes for um Nightwing i gotta say I got to call out the moment where they did disco and they literally did disco i was like nice dumb but so dumb but yeah I’ll I’ll pay him a point for that i mean it just it felt like they knew what they were doing at some points where you’re like “Oh this they they they get the sense of humor.” And then at other points I was like “Oh okay look you know what i’m gonna say that it’s it’s the fault of the writer the guy that wrote this is known for his batshit crazy anime right and that’s just what he does so if anybody has seen Guran Lagen Killer Kill like this is all anime that this guy has written sorry I don’t have his name in front of me kazuki Nakushima it’s it’s weird stuff so I think he’s just like “Yeah let’s I like Batman let’s do some weird [ __ ] with Batman.” Yeah and he did he wrote the original Batman Ninja as well like this is just his vibe this is his vibe but I think like the thing is I think there’s actually probably an entertaining 80minute film in there like I think if you were to trim a whole bunch of the [ __ ] out of it you could probably have quite an a fun little colorful dopey stupid film that runs for 80 minutes and you go away from it going “Yeah cool fine.” Mhm yeah it doesn’t I mean I really wanted to to lean more heavily into the fact that even Batman knows this is ridiculous yeah which we kind of get because he’s going on all this but he’s always prepared about things but I just wanted him to go isn’t this stupid like at some point and to be understanding of it and go look it’s dumb just do it you know we have to um you know I don’t need a big knockdown dragout fight with Kuraku um where he’s explaining all the things of how he would beat Superman in the real world it’s like don’t do that we already had this big stupid fight between Batman and Superman and that was in the movie Batman vs superman and I mean also it was just a checklist of of everything with the with the characters especially with like a Batman Superman fight it was like Red Sun check kryptonite check mechanized suit check tickbox tick box i I think one thing that I did like there was a brief uh thing There was a sort of running gag that went through it when all of the the Bat Boys um did something smart and and you know took out the the took out their their Justice League or their Yakuza League counterparts using stuff like bat science ninja team go yeah calling out their special science move yeah and I was just like so [ __ ] dumb and I like it um Yeah but unfortunately it’s too [ __ ] long it sticks around so far beyond the point where it’s enjoyable yeah i think that final battle I was very bored by the end of it i don’t know what’s going on because it says in the thing that the running time is 89 minutes but I swear it was two hours like I don’t know what cut is going on closer to like an hour and a half hour 40 yeah yeah well I mean you know 89 minutes is Yeah that’s an hour and a half an hour and a half but it felt way like 2 hours it It really didn’t okay if if I could say that I think it’s it would make a good 80minute film no let’s let’s strip that back this would probably be a perfectly acceptable 60-minute film or 40minut half an hour just turn it into a [ __ ] OVA let’s go with that like a standard you know 90s OVA 45 50 minutes yes I’m here for it no problem um

anything good to say about it yeah I like the design work when the um Yakuza League decided to go good sorry that’s spoilers but I don’t think anyone cares [ __ ] just just chuck the [ __ ] spoiler logo up on there and go “Fuck Quinn’s already out of it.” He’s like “Whatever.” Sorry i just realized I was like “That’s the part that I No I got nothing no rating no rating no clip yet just spoilers all right [ __ ] you [ __ ] your way of doing things also really really good little bit of tidbit for anyone who’s uh listening or in the chat there like Quinny will pay you $7 if you watch the if you watch Batman Ninja versus Yakuza League he will transfer you $7 so you know do with that information as you will like if you feel the need to watch it and you you you have to watch it just let me know i’ll transfer you seven months um it’s like a reverse Kofi yeah yeah you should transfer us $7 we watch this [ __ ] please for the love of God and yes my bank bank account is going to be the entire box office for this film look I’m sure it probably did absolutely mediocrely in Japan um Oh we don’t know it went on streaming and then straight to DVD slash I don’t know vinyl okay but yeah the thing that I did like there was some design work when the the Yakuza League finally you know woke up to who they could be the all of the the Yakuza style tattoos that were glowing all over their bodies i was like actually that’s pretty cool yeah cool that’s That’s a funky look um and I was I was down for that but once again cool designs don’t make for an actual good story no it is very cosplayable yes oh my god yes i could totally see like a um actually the one that I really enjoyed was the Green Lantern um her her design was Yeah really really cool yeah yeah I’d love to see a cosplay group of the Justice League in the Japanese outfits that’s cool yeah I would I would give that props also because I’d be like “Wow you watched the film.”

But you also know that maybe they just be like “No no we just saw the costumes.” And then it was really great it’s like “Have you watched it?” It’s like “Nope no.” Well and or maybe they would they’d be like “Yeah we did.” And Queen’s like “Fuck I better get $7 out for you sometimes

but yeah like I I would I would love to see more you know designs of of superhero characters done in that style because I think it’s really [ __ ] cool um just don’t need to see another film of it in fact I I promise you now I hand on my heart promise uhhuh and I’m being very careful about what I do after my hand is on my heart yeah under under present them that if another Batman ninja ever gets made I will not make you watch it and we do not have to review it i apologize thank you um I like based on this one I shall not be s seeking out Batman Ninja the first time around because I’ll be like I think I’ve seen enough oh come on i don’t know the the the the Joker designs pretty no

that’s what Google image search is for 100% yeah um the annoying thing is there were a few years ago there was a like a series of shorts that were released that used a very similar animation style to this that were Batman um anime style stuff like and I think it was this you know really beautifully painterly animation with Batman fighting Catwoman and Bane or something like that and and they were really short and they were [ __ ] cool oh that’s ringing a bell yeah yeah i will find them they’ll go on the post um you know they were super cool and that’s what I was expecting when the first one rolled around i was like are we going to get that no no no we did not uh okay so rate did you want to rate it and then clip or do you want to clip and then rate it afterwards i think we can sort of tell where this one’s going

i thought I was clear when I said oneon-one she is here to be a witness a Diana I will first ask if you’d agree to join the Hogan family we’ve known each other since we were young i can put in a good word for you you two were friendsies we once played together in the waters of Lake Inocashid i don’t want to hurt you oh don’t flatter yourself how did you get dragged into this Yakuza mess anyway the great oyaboon of your gang is from a Matskuni i hope it was worth throwing away your pride i want to rule the skyward sea the sea it’s a strange thing i’ve known nothing but the waters of this lake my whole life but whenever I look up to the sea it feeds a fire deep within my soul as though there’s another world out there one where I live as king of the great ocean there are days it’s all I think about i will make that sea my territory and to have it I will submit to Raza’s great oil boom asa you act as though you’re some pillar of society but that’s just your ego talking living underwater has swollen your head i’d expect you to say something like that

i just go laugh at each other and then come back and listening to the butchering of Japanese words by an American voice oh dear the Hagani Oyoon yeah um yeah anyway actually sorry there’s one point that I was I wanted to ask you about before we give a ratings why was the the the floating image of Superman um that appeared to Kuroku um wearing no shoes for no particularly good reason um D if we’ve got to point it out and tell you Quinny then you’re just not paying attention okay sorry it’s a cultural thing i don’t understand costume change so he was wearing ghetto sandals before so he didn’t have like No no like so right right at the end or whatever point sorry spoiler territory um the image of the true Superman appears to um Kuraku as like a this is who you should be and speaks to him oh and he was barefoot yes for no reason like he’s in the full Superman suit with everything but he’s just barefoot and I was like why cuz his mom I guess if your skin’s impervious why you [ __ ] his shoes cuz his mom his we saw it in the James Gun trailer his mom was cleaning the boots ah also like the the hero like version of him at the end all of that blue on his body was the tattoo oh yeah no I love that yeah he just had a his little um codpiece on yeah yeah the little underwear that they go to the onen or whatever oh dear um ratings [ __ ] it i’m just gonna start uh it’s I’m giving it [ __ ] a strong 30 can’t recommend it the designs are great but I mean hey I can see some pictures and I don’t need to watch the whole thing um I thought I thought it was a bit of a mess there’s a couple of good jokes in there but it’s also very long sorry not for me you don’t have to be sorry dumb

god i pay you join the Hagane oaboom the hag um oh yaboom okay so it actually had stuff for me in it yeah yeah it was Yeah japanese style uh Batman characters uh yeah I didn’t hate my whole viewing experience okay it did give me a bit i’ll I’ll give it a 55 i wouldn’t entirely recommend it to people because the story was just overly complicated and batshit pardon the pun fat [ __ ] crazy at some point oh no no no pardoning of puns own that part like why are we doing this mhm okay well that’s interesting that Yeah your your rating was one point lower than my rating of the first film oh yeah um look I I’m going to go a little lower than the first one because this one like the first one you know was a new idea and it was like okay let’s go crazy and so there was a kind of freshness and you know everything was [ __ ] just crazy this one also had the extra added thing of also feeling a little tired in places like you know we’re we’re having to work really hard to make the concept of two worlds crashing into each other you know work and there’s a there was so much [ __ ] exposition to try and make the science fiction part of it work that I was like “Oh god this is not only is it kind of dumb but it’s also boring and dumb.” I was just like “Oh for [ __ ] sake.” Um but yeah so for me it’s it’s a 40 i was like moments of joy moments of going “That looks cool.” Moments of “Yeah that’s a fun idea.” and some fun dialogue and stuff totally outweighed by another 40 minutes of boredom and once again to everybody I’m sorry

well appreciate the uh the full uh uh way you stand up and you said “Yes this was me apologies.” I can’t I can’t not i was hoping it would be like a big firework ending to the anime uh but it wasn’t really it’s just kind of a little little cracker in the park yep you know it looked dumb and fun and kind of more akin to what we’re after and it was just kind of not really but you might some of them might like it no you can’t all be winners no can’t no um but then we’ve got a bunch of other stuff to do don’t we that it’s going to coming up well we we we haven’t done anything new in the last little while yeah and and and we’re still trying to decide what the [ __ ] we are doing for the next month yeah we haven’t really got there we’re getting there i mean we’ve got things yeah we we do and there’s a lot of stuff that’s been on TV lately yeah we were talking last week wasn’t it about a season 2 roundup thing television roundup uh no one appreciated us no one appreciated my my suggestion i put in the Sorry sorry everyone listening or reading is like we have a chat that other people don’t see i put in the chat which was I mean if you want to pay extra money we can start a destination you should get there like I I I’m down for the never ending story seven now yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah see that that’s one of those things that’s a lie that’s just straight up lying never ending story just making sequels is totally on brand sure like Yeah because it’s a never- ending story exactly like it’s totally allowed to be continuous forever final story exactly yeah it’s not the end of the story it’s like Scream like after how many movies is it that you just say “Look you’re just attention seeking.” Yeah um yeah anyone got anything seeing anything this week i don’t know oh actually something I’m excited for a little bit i think it’s next week is Predator: Killer of Killers um the animated um anthology series i have a I have a bone to pick with that one oh do you yeah mainly because as soon as Prey came out I remember the internet kind of went “Hey you should put Predator in a samurai context and have uh like that as a movie.” And I think the entire internet was like “That sounds [ __ ] amazing.” And instead of making that liveaction movie they’ve kind of given us it in this anthology and while he’s probably going to be good and like I’m down for an anthology no we wanted the live action [ __ ] movie man like we wanted you know the wind rustling fighting a [ __ ] and you know what I would love to have seen like Zatoi versus Predator yeah you know what does an invisible Predator matter if the if the swords with his swords with his Yeah yeah so that would be [ __ ] cool oh what about Batuji and Itman versus Predator two blind dudes and a Predator [ __ ] the Predator the Predator’s screwed all of a sudden but yeah like um this there’s also this weird thing about Predator there was an animated series that was fully animated and has been shelved um I know of Alien versus Predator and yeah and I keep wondering what the [ __ ] was so bad that they went that that whole series all of the voice work done all the animation done no no we’re never going to release that we’re going to put that on a shelf oh I I hope we get somewhere um Yeah anyway um see anything else new that’s come out cool stuff yeah what have you been watching Jim um I finished Ghosts so now I have to wait for more of that to come out um yeah watching Murderbot i like that one haven’t watched any of it yet but it looks fun it’s kind of cute um okay i’ve been watching this uh little indie series on ABC I view called Kimbley

yeah now that we got you hooked i I I watched we’ll be introducing ads yeah yes absolutely the initification of the period table of awesome men right now um uh no ads apart from the ads you get on Twitch but whatever yeah um I’ve watched the first couple of episodes of the Kimbley and I really think it’s beautiful it’s a lovely piece of work so just Kimbley i’m pretty sure it’s the definite article the Kimbley is it i’m pretty sure it is oh where’s Peter and Anita i know doing plug in the Kimbley at a screening at the Australian Museum plug in the Kim um yeah oh actually what did I watch recently it’s the It’s the Kimbley the Kimbley okay I stand corrected oh my god i finished The Studio all right it’s everything that I wish the franchise had been ah right but an American kind of side it doesn’t actually show you the nitty-gritty nuts and bolts people it’s more from the executive side no it’s it’s the chaotic frenetic Seth Rogan energy that I love okay um it was quite fun i’ve been And like each episode kind of has like a cinematic trope in it which is like very like interesting storytelling kind of thing i like And some very Trixie cinematography and uh movie magic I have to say okay yeah like they did it’s a good series yeah yeah there’s a lot of money at it but it’s good it seems to be on the screen so it’s good i watched a terrible film i just remembered yeah it’s Batman Ninja versus We just talked about it for What did you watch Benny i watched The Fountain of Youth oh no it was I’m sorry oh no i’m so sorry saving it okay oh [ __ ] i’m sorry Jill oh I was going to watch it on the weekend but I thought “Oh mom wants to see it and she doesn’t have Apple so I’ll watch.” You shouldn’t have said You shouldn’t have said anything cuz then you would like then Jill would have had to pay you $7 cancelled everything there’s just this $7 moving around um I made you watch this just a $7 economy that’s all it is just move around yeah yeah um but hey you you may enjoy it but I watched the whole thing and was like “Wow you have made a movie entirely devoid of of charisma.” Oh no like like with with a a [ __ ] massive cast of of you know you’ve got John Krosinski Natalie Portman Donald Gleon Stanley Tucci it’s directed by Guy Richie you’re like “Okay it’s got all these things that should be kind of making it fun.” My god what a turgid piece of dishwater [ __ ] that is oh no um look your mileage may vary but um yeah I I was sitting there just going I’m I’m really bored by this damn very disappointing and I’m sorry that if you like My mom will probably love it yeah I was gonna say others if you like cortisol spikes and um uh and anxiety I recommend binging the entire season of The Pit uh as a medical drama yes thought about this yeah because of the new people who were watching it like episodically and like doing it and I wasn’t really paying attention but then I went back and I watched all of it in a block and I was like “Holy [ __ ] that’s really good and stressful as fuck.” But also the new 24 yeah yeah yeah yeah but also you know just just good like well done go No wy who’s um Yeah you know started his career as the freshfaced young intern at a hospital and now he’s the grizzled old it’s not together oh he’s not the same character from No but uh No no is it the same one from the librarians uh no he reminded me more of Falling Skies no he’s redeemed himself from Falling Skies quite well in this one so uh yeah yeah hey that’s a human drama and not very you know uh geeky but some people might like it i thought it was good it’s really good bit of a binge watch nice um but yeah that’s it that’s all I got nothing else really there’s there’s plenty of other good stuff out there anyone in the chat been watching cuz it’s not that frenetic is it it’s just it’s boring and Yeah yeah know you’re right like yeah it didn’t it didn’t work no it really um Adsky says “The last movie watched was Thunderbolts and now the center is closed due to not being up to fire safety standards.” Oh dear oh that’s that sucks man no that’s really good i’m really happy to hear that because if it’s being renovated because it’s been closed down because it’s not fires safe it sucks for the not the movies but I’m real happy you’re not going to die in a fire yeah that is true good point let’s be honest you could have gone to as you mentioned earlier and watched Final Destination and the roof could have fallen in oh dear um T is down in Lonnie and I saw that they were doing a screening at the star of Flo the animated um cat movie um that if you if you’ve got an opportunity to watch that in a big screen do so it’s [ __ ] stunning gorgeous little film great okay well well that’s it that’s the end of anime yeah it is we’re going out with a whimp and not a bang okay are we going to do this again next year we want to do anime next year i don’t know sure i can pick another classic kurasiki a
