TPToA Podcast 258 – The Woman In The House Across The Road From The Girl In The Window

A very odd mix of funny and thrilling
This one is a messy mix of styles and purposes that somehow manages to be both funny, and tense, while simultaneously at other times, being neither. It's a heck of a mixed bag, but generally fun.

The Good Place
It's funny and the parody elements are subtle enough to sneak under your defences.
Kristen Bell is eminently watchable and is great at investigating stuff. Again.
The mYstery is twisty and turny enough to make you come back each episode.
The Bad Place.
Sometimes the offbeat humour makes it unclear what is meant to be scary or wacky
Its a bit of a slow burn, but thats also the style its based on.
The final act does ratchet up the ludicrous until you're either going to laugh or loathe it.

AWESOME

“TWIT HATS FTGITW” as nobody is calling it, is the new Netflix comedy psychological thriller starring Kristen Bell and wine. If you can finish saying the entire title of the show in a single breath, then you can get a lollipop.

Peta, Dion and Quinny are still arguing who is “The Girl”, who is “The Street” and where is “The Window”, Frenté will soon be along to claim copyright of their discussion.

For heartbroken Anna (Kristen Bell), every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbour (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Some of the links we mentioned in the show for donating to help both in Ukraine and here in Australia for the floods are as follows:

UNHCR Ukraine support: Helping to save refugees in crisis.

World Central Kitchen: Chefs helping and cooking hot meals for people escaping warzones.

RSPCA NSW: Looking after the animals also effected by the floods

State Emergency Services NSW:The front line of those out there helping save lives and property in these awful times.

(Please note that you may of course prefer to donate to your own state’s SES and RSPCA to support them.)
