TPToA Podcast 265 – After Yang

For a change of pace, this week we are talking about the slow-burn, contemplative science fiction film After Yang. Colin Farrell stars as Jake, the Father of a family whose existence is thrown in to disarray when their secondary child robot/android Yang shuts down. In his efforts to repair Yang and assuage his daughter, Jake finds that things with the robot were maybe a lot more complex than he initially thought. It’s science fiction but more cut from the same cloth as Her, Ex Machina and even DEVS.

Dion, Jill, Peta and Quinny are the critical techno-sapiens in this podcast, saving the tiny beautiful moments of this cinematic journey into their longterm memory.

A huge thank you to the techno-sapiens joining in on the live-chat during the Twitch stream this week (and every week!) each Tuesday night. If you haven’t done so before, engage your internal modem at 7:30pm next Tuesday to join in on the discussion.

A gentle, small film with big ideas
Slow cinema with a touch of Sad-fi. family drama, that could be in Love Death and Robots, except it's not flashy or animated enough.
