Ready Player One – TPToA Podcast 65

Ready Player One is Steven Spielberg’s big-budget adventure film based on Earnest Cline’s hugely popular 2011 novel. Quinny is joined by fellow literary adaptation aficionados, Yas and Bec, while Dion is the only member of this podcast who has experienced the film as a standalone piece. The film stars Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts / Parzival, Olivia Cooke as Samantha / Art3mis, and Ben Mendelsohn as the villainous Nolan Sorrento. There’s a completely spoiler-free section at the top for those of you wanting to go in clean, and then a spoiler-filled tail end for those of you digging deep for pop cultural gold.

Sometimes feels like its a shotgun blast to the face, of unrelated nostalgic ideas.
some of its main characters get reduced down to unflattering stereotypes.
